Our ancestors already knew in ancient times that colours affect our emotions, mood and behaviour. In this way, they expressed their spiritual and cultural orientation, their position in society and the business world through colours.
Colour psychology is a recognized science today, and scientists studying this field have found that although one colour can have different effects on different people, there are some general rules about the effect of colour on our brains.
Some time ago, marketing experts analysed the 100 largest brands in the world to determine how colours determine their value and which ones are the most popular among those brands. They came to very interesting conclusions. The colour blue seems to be a favourite, as it shows up in 33% of the top 100 brands. Red takes second place, appearing in 29% of brands, and black or grey is the third most popular choice with 28%. And last but not least, only 13% of the analysed companies use yellow or gold.
Interestingly, as many as 95% of the top 100 brands use only one or two colours. This can be interpreted as an attempt to maintain consistency and maintain simplicity in the logo or brand. Even more interesting is the fact that the text is not relevant for many of these brands, as only 41% use them in their logos.
This is proof that a well-designed logo in the right colour can connect with potential users, even without the use of text to complement it. Of the 100 brands, 9% did not have a company name on their logo.
Colour is one of the most memorable visual elements of your brand. When you choose the right colour that will represent your business from the beginning, and then use them consistently all throughout your content, your business will be forever associated with those colours. In short, using colours is an inexpensive way to create a memorable brand impact. This is especially true for business gifts. With the latter, however, choosing the right colour shouldn’t confuse you. Here are some quick tips on what message a particular colour conveys to your business partner.
White: Any business gift in white will definitely be a hit, as white is considered to combine all the colours of the colour spectrum. White is a mix of all the different hues and symbolises peace and quiet. It has a calming effect and symbolises, among other things, new beginnings, truth, purity, innocence, divinity and goodness.
Yellow: If you are surprising a business partner with a gift that you want his child to use, opt for a yellow colour of the product. Adults also love yellow business gifts; think of a yellow umbrella, which brightens up your walk on the streets on a grey and rainy day. Yellow reminds us of light, sun and gold, and symbolises, among other things, happiness, wisdom, optimism and eternity.
Orange: With this colour of business gifts you will encourage activity, communication and inspiration. Orange is the colour of joy, maturity and growth, which symbolises courage, connection, endurance and has a calming effect.
Red: In a positive sense, it is the most aggressive colour with a large impact on intellectual activity. Red: is the colour of life and love, symbolising strong emotions, courage and passion, making it perfect to use on a promotional or business gift that you want to make a strong impact with!
Green: Carefully selected business gifts in green will have a calming effect on the business partner and give the impression of loyalty and morality. Green is a symbol of nature, health, safety and justice. We also associate it with peace, growth, loyalty and balance.
Blue: Because blue also symbolises openness, intelligence, hope and striving for something higher, it is a great choice when buying a gift for a business partner. Blue is associated with feelings of depth, peace, infinity and symbolises striving for something higher, openness, wisdom, hope and spirituality.
Purple: A business gift in this colour will express, among other things, moderation, mastery and wisdom. Purple symbolises power, authority and mystery. We connect it with feelings of peace or. calmness, modesty and simplicity.
Pink: This gentle colour reminds us of the early days of birth exudes tenderness, femininity, positivism and playfulness. It also symbolises femininity, health and innocence. It has a warm and soothing effect and is reminiscent of care, sensitivity and vulnerability.
Brown: Brown is a symbol of everything tangible and stable and, according to scientists, drives away uncertainty. All these characteristics are also the heart of a good business relationship. Last but not least, brown also symbolises materiality, comfort and security, as well as motherhood, and stability. It has a calming effect, and eliminates feelings of insecurity.
Black: This colour symbolises prestige and is an extremely popular colour for business gifts, as it has always been considered the colour of comfort and protection. If all the rainbow is hidden in white, the absence of all colours is considered black. We associate it with silence, mystery and infinity.

The fact is that colours help to sell, as research has shown that almost 85% of consumers confirmed that colour was the main reason for buying a particular product.
A carefully chosen colour of a business gift with the printing of your logo and promotional message can help not only differentiate your company from competitors, but also affect your clients’ well-being in a positive way and thus indirectly affect the attitude of consumers to a particular product.
