By following these tips, you can choose promotional gifts that effectively represent your brand while staying within your budget.

1. Determine Your Budget

Determine how much you can afford to spend on promotional gifts while keeping in mind that the cost per item will likely decrease as you order more units. There are a couple steps you can follow to determine your budget for promotional gifts, one of the most important ones being determining your goals. Ask yourself what you hope to achieve by using promotional gifts; do you want to increase brand awareness, thank clients or employees, or promote a new product or service? Understanding your goals will help you determine how much you should allocate to your promotional gift budget.

Additionally, you should consider your target audience. In other words, who will be receiving the promotional gifts? Understanding your target audience can help you determine how much you should spend, as well as what types of gifts will be most appropriate. The last step before setting a budget includes evaluation of your resources; consider your company’s financial resources, as well as any constraints such as time and personnel. Determine how much you can realistically afford to spend on promotional gifts.

Once you’ve completed all three steps described above, you’re ready to set your gift budget. Based on the above factors, it’ll be much easier to come up with a specific budget for your promotional gift campaign. Once you decide on the types of promotional gifts that are most relevant to your business and its customers, it’ll be easier to budget as you’ll be focusing your expenses on those particular items as opposed to random trinkets no one really wants.
